Oneida County
Attractions
Nestled in the
woodlands of northern Wisconsin, Oneida County is an active area
continuing to maintain its friendly spirit and natural beauty.
If getting outdoors and enjoying fresh air and magnificent surroundings
interests you, then it's time you discovered The Real Outdoors
in Oneida County, Wisconsin.
The most significant
thing that Oneida County residents have done to enhance the area
was to leave it alone. Nature did all the work. Now visitors and
residents alike can enjoy the results. From 1,200 crystal clear
lakes to 50 named streams and rivers, the area is blessed with
pure, invigorating waters. Boat, fish, swim and waterski through
one of the world's largest chain of lakes -- the clarity of the
water will amaze you.
Imagine thousands of unspoiled acres to bike and hike through,
including the stunning 18-mile Bearskin State Park Trail, a reclaimed
railroad bed which heads south out of Minocqua through birch forests
and over rippling creeks. As winter changes the scenery from vivid
green to snowy white, enjoy 1,500 miles of snowmobile trails and
100 miles of crosscountry ski trails. Consistently ranked as one
of the country's top cross-country ski areas, Minocqua's Winter
Park is a premier ski destination, which features over 75 kilometers
of well-groomed trails. Ski another 39 breathtaking miles throughout
the Northern Highlands/American Legion State Forest. Back
