experience. For nature enthusiasts it 's a must to visit the L.H
Barhousen Waterfowl Preserve and the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
Even if you don't have a green thumb, strolling the beautiful
walkways of the Green Bay Botanical Garden will be a wonderful
way to spend the afternoon. Don't forget to set aside a day for
the NEW Zoo, one of Wisconsin's premier animal habitats on more
than 40 acres natural exhibit area.
Sports fans beware...a visit to Green Bay and you may never
want to go home again. Home to the legendary Green Bay Packers
- history, tradition and spirit are non-stop in Titletown. Fans
can tour historic Lambeau Field, play a variety of interactive
football games, walk the hall of the Packer Hall of Fame, and
even watch the Packers during their summer training camp.
Brown County also offers cultural
delights and entertainment with two symphony orchestras and a
world class performing arts center.

Museums & Historic Sites
Children's Museum of Green Bay

A variety of hands-on activities and interactive exhibits make
the Children's Museum of Green Bay a place for all ages to create,
discover, question and explore. The museum with its six houses
and 10,000 sq. ft. of exhibits include Early Wisconsin time travel
(a trading camp, pioneer school, 1930's home and a 1950's soda
shop), Fire Safety exhibit, Imagination Station, the Locker Room
- for mini Packer Fans, a toddler play area and much more! Open
year round, Monday through Saturday 10am - 5pm, and Sunday 11am
- 5pm. Admission.
Hazelwood Historic Home Museum

Step back in time and journey through a landmark of Wisconsin
history. The Hazelwood has been the home to three generations
of the Martin family who were a political and cultural force for
Green Bay and all of Wisconsin for more than 100 years. Morgan
Martin, who came to Wisconsin in 1827 and first owned the Hazelwood
home, was the president of the Second Constitutional Convention
of 1847-1848 which resulted in Wisconsin statehood and the writing
of our state constitution. The ten room Greek Revival home, built
in 1837, is filled with many original Martin furnishings, family
photographs, paintings and other period pieces. The Hazelwood
Historic Home is also home to the Brown County Historical Society
and it continually works towards educating, preserving, advancing
and disseminating the knowledge of Brown County history. Open
every weekend in May 1-4pm, and open daily June through August
10am-2pm (closed Tuesday) and weekend hours of 1-4pm. Group tours
can be arranged by appointment. Admission.
National Railroad Museum

The National Railroad Museum, founded in 1958, is home to one
of America's most historic railroad collections. The museum features
more than 75 pieces of rolling stock including General Dwight
D. Eisenhower's WWII Command Train, the 'Bayonet'; the world's
largest steam engine; the Union Pacific 'Big Boy'; General Motors
experimental train of tomorrow, the 'Aerotrain'; a variety of
vintage passenger trains and more. A visit to the National Railroad
Museum includes a fun day of train rides on Thomas the Tank Engine,
educational films, and walking tours of the grounds. Open year
round, (except Saturdays & Sundays January through March)
9am - 5pm. Train rides on Thomas the Tank Engine run May 1st through

Neville Public Museum

The Neville Museum first opened its exhibits to the public in
1915 in a small display at the public library. As exhibits increased
in number and popularity, the museum continued to grow to today's
58,000 sq. ft. facility. The Neville Museum is a museum of art,
history and science, dedicated to the collection and preservation
of artifacts of Northeast Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The museum
has a variety of changing art exhibits plus smaller art, history
and photo exhibits. On the Edge of the Inland Sea, the
Neville Museum premier exhibit, takes you through 12,000 years
of history, beginning with a glacier representing the end of the
Ice Age, and ending with a look at how Green Bay evolved into
a modern city. The museum also features educational programs,
museum memberships and a gift gallery that features a variety
of museum-oriented gifts, original artwork and jewelry, children's
gifts, souvenirs and books. Open Sunday 12-4pm; Tuesday, Thursday,
Friday and Saturday 9am-4pm and Wednesday 9am-9pm. Donations accepted.
Heritage Hill Living History Museum

History buffs will love spending a day at the Heritage Hill Museum.
An outdoor living museum, the Heritage Hill features 25 historic
and reconstructed buildings dating from 1672 through 1905, on
49 park-like acres. The museum also has costumed interpreters
to guide you and teach visitors about Wisconsin history. Open
Memorial Day through Labor, Tuesday
to Saturday 10am-4:30pm, plus holiday programs in December. Admission.

Nature Centers & Parks
L.H. Barhausen Waterfowl Preserve

Nature enthusiasts will love exploring all 925 acres of state
designated wildlife viewing areas. The nature center features
interactive displays about Wisconsin plant and animal life. Outdoor
and winter sports enthusiasts enjoy the many miles of hiking and
cross-country skiing trails throughout the preserve. Open Monday
through Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday & Sunday 12-4pm.
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

Nature and animal lovers alike will enjoy more than 700 acres
of wildlife refuge featuring a variety of educational exhibits.
Take the time to feed some of the 3,500 ducks and geese that live
in the refuge or watch many other animals play and live in their
natural surroundings. Outdoor sports enthusiasts will also feel
at home as they enjoy the many hiking and cross-country ski trails.
Open mid-April to mid-September, daily from 8am-8pm and mid-September
to mid-April 8am-5pm.
Green Bay Botanical Garden

Be sure to stop and smell the roses at the Green Bay Botanical
Garden. The garden features a formal rose garden, four season
garden, herb garden and a special children's garden with a tree
house, maze and frog pond. The botanical garden is also host to
more than 70 special and holiday events throughout the year. Open
May through October Tuesday to Saturday 10am-6pm, and October
through April Monday to Friday 9am-4pm. Admission.
NEW Zoo

Bring the whole family and enjoy the chance to see a variety of
animals from as far as Australia and as close as your own backyard.
The NEW (North Eastern Wisconsin) Zoo was designed to be a place
for both entertainment and education, as well as a breeding and
survival center for endangered species. As you journey through
the NEW Zoo's 43 acres of natural animal exhibits you will cross
four very special sections of the zoo, beginning with the International
Trail which features African Lions, Australian Wallabies, Penguins,
an Amazon Exhibit and more; the Wisconsin Trail which features
Lynx, Mountain Lions, Bears, Game Birds, a Grey Wolf plus more
wildlife indigenous of Wisconsin; the Prairie Grasslands Trail
which includes Prairie Dogs, Coyote, Sandhill Cranes, Bison and
Elk; and finally the Children's Zoo with its goat yard, giant
turtle, a Children's Barn & Garden area and even Reindeer.
The animals are just waiting for you to visit. Open
daily April through October 9am-6pm and November through March
9am-4pm.

Lambeau Field Stadium Tour

Want to run the ball 50 yards down the famous sod of the Green Bay Packers? Well
you can't do that, but...on a Lambeau Field Stadium Tour you will get a chance
to take a look at the field from the press stands and take an exclusive tour of
the Press Box and the Club Seats. The stadium tour lasts 1 1/2 hours but the
memory of standing in the shadows of such football greats like Vince Lombardi,
Fuzzy Thurston, Ray Nitschke, Bart Starr and Brett Farve will last a lifetime.
Tickets are available at the Packer Hall of Fame on a first-come basis, and the
tours are held daily, 9:30am-4:30pm - every hour on the half-hour, June through
August. Tours are not available the day before, day of, or day after Packer home
games. Admission charged. Group rates available for groups of 25 or more from
May through September.

Football fans will love to get down and work hard "Packer style" at
The Packer Experience. Play on 18 different interactive events such as The
Lambeau Leap and the Extra Point Kick or feel the glory as you slip on a replica Super Bowl XXXI Championship
Ring. The Packer Experience is open during Packer Training Camp that
typically runs mid-July to mid-August; dates will be set by June 2000. Call for
additional information.
Enjoy the farm fresh produce, meats, cheeses and more at any one of Brown
County's Farmers Markets. Local vendors will thrill your taste buds with the
many flavors of jams, jellies, preserves and syrups made fresh every week.
Shoppers with a green thumb will enjoy the wide variety of plants, annuals and
perennials the markets have to offer. Some Farmers Markets will also feature
varied artists and craftspeople.
