Stevens Point, located along the Wisconsin River in the heart of Wisconsin, is filled with beautiful scenery, lots of activities, and many hidden charms. Recreational Activities

Whether you're looking for outdoor adventure or something more serene, Stevens Point has something for everyone.  Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, walking, biking and cross country skiing the beautiful 24-mile Green Circle Trail that features spectacular scenery along the Wisconsin and Plover Rivers. Over 36 miles of  trails in county and state parks provide great nature watching, biking, ATVing, and cross country skiing as well as hiking and jogging. At Standing Rocks County Park you can downhill ski. The Schmeeckle Reserve is a popular place to walk, enjoy nature and observe wildlife. For the fishing enthusiasts, the Wisconsin River is becoming one of the best muskie waters in the state. Other fish, including walleye, northern bass, crappie and panfish are plentiful. Golfers can enjoy some of the best golfing in the state at three area golf courses, including one that is ranked the second best public course in the state.

The arts are well represented in Stevens Point. City sponsored concerts in the park as well as jazz festivals bring music for everyone to enjoy. There's the Riverfront Arts Center and various art shows and galleries to view all kinds of art. Over 60 downtown Stevens Point buildings comprise the Mainstreet Historic District,  many of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. A map with a walking tour is available. The planetarium, various museums, including the Children's Museum, local theater, symphony and daily summer Farmer's Market offer a wide range of activities to enjoy in the area.
