location among the rolling hills of western Wisconsin and the Kinnickinnic
River flowing through the heart of town, River Falls boasts a

Recreational
Activities
Enjoy all kinds of
recreational activities in River Falls. At the Kinnickinnic
State Park, which features 1,242 acres of woods, 7 miles of hiking trails,
and the Kinnickinnic River, there is both outdoor adventure and natural
beauty. Trails take the hiker or leisurely walker from grasslands to woods
to sandy beaches.
In addition to
hiking trails, the park offers picnic areas, swimming area along the beach
and an overlook of the valley. The valley is one of the best places in the
state to view wildlife -- deer, painted turtles, beaver, mink and many
other animals. Cross-county skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing are
popular activities in the winter.
The park features camping for up
to 110 boats on the sand delta where the Kinnickinnic River enters the St.
Croix River. And you'll find some of the best trout fishing in the Midwest
on the nationally recognized Kinnickinnic River. The Kinnickinnic
River, a Class A category trout stream, is a 25-mile long spring fed trout
stream, and with 7 access points, the river is easily accessible and a
very popular fishing destination.
River Falls
features two exceptional and challenging 18- hole golf courses with
beautiful landscapes and there are 7 other courses nearby. Enjoy the
scenery on a driving, hiking or biking tour along the Great River Road as it meanders along the Mississippi
River and through the charming river towns or tour the countryside on
Pierce County's Rustic Road.
Enjoy the excitement
when the Kansas City Chiefs set up their month long NFL Summer Camp
Training at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus. The public is
invited to watch the practices free-of-charge, and food, refreshments and
tours of the Chiefs' training facilities are available.
Throughout the year the
River Falls area comes alive with community events and festivals,
including the Cheese Curd Fest in Ellsworth, River Falls Days, and the
Apple Festival in Beldenville.
