Ideally located on Lake Michigan, between the Milwaukee and Chicago metropolitan areas, Racine County features a picturesque lake front and harbor offering lots of recreational opportunities, as well as a beautiful countryside and many bustling communities. Outdoor Recreation

Racine County is bursting with activities on water and on land! Racine County's waterfront has all the amenities for serious sailors and fishermen, plus charter services and tours to help land lovers experience Lake Michigan. You'll enjoy great salmon and trout fishing, sailing, canoeing, boating, jet skiing, scuba diving and relaxing on the many lakefront beaches. Other outdoor recreation attractions include biking and hiking trails, cross country skiing, horseback riding, ice skating and more. Both novice and experienced golfers will enjoy several area golf courses.

Historical & Cultural Attractions

There are activities in Racine County all year-round with festivals, music, historical events, and more! Racine's Festival Park, one of the Midwest's premier festival and event venues located along the shore of Lake Michigan, hosts events nearly every weekend from late spring through fall. From the music of Harbor Fest  and a variety of  ethnic festivals to reeling in a "Big One" at Salmon A Rama and the ChocolateFest in Burlington,  there are plenty of events to please every member of the family. Other popular attractions include the Windpoint Lighthouse, a landmark lighthouse built in 1880 and  the oldest in operation on Lake Michigan. The entire family will have fun at the Racine Zoological Gardens. It is one of only 13 free admission accredited zoos left in the entire country. Here you will find lions, wolves, rhinos, orangutans, kangaroos and more, living in exhibit spaces designed to imitate natural surroundings. Racine also is home to many cultural events including nationally acclaimed theater, symphony, fine art exhibitions and more.
