Activities
From hunting and
fishing to swimming and golf, Medford provides lots of recreational fun
for everyone. The area is heavily forested and near the Chequamegon
National Forest. In season, hunters find whitetail deer, black bear,
foxes, coyotes, grouse, pheasants and turkeys. The crystal clear lakes and
streams provide great fishing, some of the best trout fishing, as well as
every kind of water activity. Various trails throughout the area offer
some of the most scenic hiking, jogging, nature walking, biking and
horseback riding trails in the state.

In Medford-
Tourist Park - With campsites, swimming pool, athletic
fields, and shelters, this city park is popular with all ages.
Nearby-
Ice Age Trail - 60 miles of scenic trail, offering some of the best
hiking in the state.
The Pine Line - Rail-trail stretching for 26.2 miles and names for
its eastern white pine. Open for non-motorized use such as bicycling,
hiking, jogging and horseback riding. Snowmobiling and ATV riding December
through March.
Perkinstown Motorized Trail - 20 miles of trail developed for ATVs and
motorcycles as well as mountain bikes, horseback riding and other
non-motorized activities through the scenic Chequamegon National Forest.
Perkinstown Winter Sports Area - Located 16 miles west of Medford,
this very popular area offers downhill tubing, cross county ski trails,
chalet and concessions.
Mondeaux Flowage Recreation Area - With 5 camping areas,
concessions, swimming, hiking trails, boating, fishing, historical sites
and more, this is one of the most family oriented areas in the northwoods.
Rustic Road - Enjoy a quiet and leisurely drive for five miles
around numerous lakes and through outstanding glacial topography on Wisconsin's
first Rustic Road.
