County also has 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, miles and

of acres of public forest land, and many other natural outdoor
attractions. It's easy to see why Langlade County is known for

forests, crystal clear lakes and rivers, and outdoor recreation. The towns
and villages of Antigo, White Lake, Hollister, Pearson, Langlade,
Pickerel, Elcho and many more are filled with northwoods friendliness and
warmth and are alive with activities, shopping and events. There are
festivals all year long. In the winter, enjoy the dogsled races through
the scenic Crocker Hills. Dogsled enthusiasts from all over the Midwest
and world participate in these events. Winter highlights also include the
USSA snowmobile races at the Langlade County Fairgrounds and snowshoe racing. Spring and summer bring Off Road Races in June plus Stock
Car Racing every Friday evening in the summer. The 4-H Horse Show, County
Fairs, Market Street Fun Fest and local art & craft shows are popular
attractions for both residents and visitors.

There are
numerous crystal clear lakes, rivers and streams to choose from to enjoy
swimming, boating, white river rafting, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing
and more. The approximately 735 wilderness lakes scattered over the county
as well as countless rivers , streams and spring holes offer a broad
range of fishing opportunities. Musky, trout, walleye, trophy largemouth
bass, northern pike, and a variety of pan fish are in abundance as well as
brookies, rainbow and brown trout, and smallmouth bass.
For the
hunter, the county is a hunting paradise, with the heavily wooded areas
home to healthy populations of white tail deer, ruffed grouse, black bear
and wild turkey. Campers enjoy a variety of camping opportunities, from
rustic to all the comforts of home, all with scenic surroundings.
Three area
golf courses, downhill skiing and outstanding sightseeing in every season
further add to Langlade County's huge list of recreational
