than in the Antigo area. With over 500 miles of groomed trails in the
county, there is something for everyone. With miles of scenic, winding
country roads and countless trails, you can explore the beauty of the Antigo
area by any means of transport.
If crystal clear lakes,
rivers and streams interest you, there are countless bodies of water to
choose from to enjoy swimming, boating, white river rafting, canoeing,
kayaking, water skiing and more. The approximately 735 wilderness lakes
scattered over the county as well as numerous rivers, streams and spring
holes offer a broad range of fishing opportunities. Musky, trout, walleye,
trophy largemouth bass, northern pike, and a variety of pan fish are
in abundance as well as brookies, rainbow and brown trout, and smallmouth
bass.
The Antigo area
is also a hunter's paradise. The heavily wooded areas surrounding Antigo
are home to healthy populations of white tail deer, ruffed grouse, black
bear and wild turkey.
