At Holland's Family Cheese in Thorp, Wisconsin,
creamy Gouda-style cheese is handcrafted in the Creamery on the
Penterman family
dairy farm using an original Dutch recipe and fresh milk from their
cows. Our milk is r-bgh free and our cheeses are carefully aged on wooden shelves. Aging makes
Holland's Family Farm Goudas very different from most American
Gouda-style cheeses, which are usually sold very young. Marieke and Rolf Penterman both grew up
on small dairy farms in Holland and came to Wisconsin and started their
own dairy farm in Thorp in 2002. They began making a truly "Dutch" kind
of cheese in November, 2006. It is available from their farm store or
